Frequently Asked Questions

What is DocPouch?

DocPouch is a secure online platform designed to help Australian prescribers prepare and submit PBS Prescriber Bag orders in a streamlined, compliant manner.

DocPouch itself does not dispense medicines. All PBS Prescriber Bag supplies are reviewed, dispensed, and dispatched by a licensed Australian pharmacy.

Who supplies the medicines ordered through DocPouch?

All PBS Prescriber Bag medicines ordered through DocPouch are supplied by Priceline Pharmacy Sunshine Marketplace, an approved Australian pharmacy.

DocPouch operates as an administrative ordering and document submission platform, while the pharmacy remains responsible for verification, dispensing, and supply in accordance with PBS requirements.

What is a PBS Prescriber Bag?

A PBS Prescriber Bag allows eligible prescribers to obtain certain PBS-listed medicines without charge for the purpose of supplying them free to patients in emergency or urgent clinical situations.

These arrangements are governed by the National Health Act 1953 and associated PBS legislative instruments.

Who is eligible to order PBS Prescriber Bag supplies?

PBS Prescriber Bag supplies are available to eligible Australian prescribers, including:

· Medical practitioners

· Authorised nurse practitioners

· Other authorised prescribers under PBS rules

All prescribers must hold a valid AHPRA registration and prescriber number.

How do I obtain a Prescriber Bag Supply Order Book?

Eligible prescribers can request a Prescriber Bag Supply Order Book through Services Australia using their HPOS (Health Professional Online Services) account.

Further information is available on the Services Australia website.

How often can Prescriber Bag orders be placed?

Prescriber Bag orders are subject to monthly limits set by the PBS.

Each Prescriber Bag Supply Order Form is valid only for the month specified on the form. Orders may only be placed once per month for each prescriber.

Are there limits on how much I can order?

Yes. Each PBS-listed Prescriber Bag item has a maximum quantity that may be obtained per month.

Prescribers may only order up to the maximum quantity if they do not already hold the maximum quantity on hand. Stockpiling is not permitted under PBS rules.

What documents are required to place an order?

A completed and signed Prescriber Bag Supply Order Form is required for every order.

A copy of the signed form must be uploaded through the DocPouch platform before the order can be reviewed or dispatched.

Do I still need to send the original order form?

Yes. The Prescriber Bag Supply Order Form remains the legal authority for supply.

After receiving your medicines, the original and duplicate copies of the order form must be provided to the supplying pharmacy. The triplicate copy should be retained by the prescriber for their records.

Posting instructions are provided within the platform and in the information section.

What happens after I submit an order?

Once submitted:

1. Your order is marked Pending Review

2. The supplying pharmacy reviews your details and documentation

3. If approved, the order is dispensed and prepared

4. The order is dispatched with tracking

5. You receive email notifications at each stage

No medicines are supplied until the order is verified and approved by the pharmacy.

Can a practice manager order on behalf of multiple doctors?

Yes. DocPouch supports clinic or practice accounts, allowing practice managers to manage orders for multiple prescribers within the same clinic.

Each prescriber remains individually verified and each order remains compliant with PBS requirements.

Is DocPouch an online pharmacy or retail store?

No. DocPouch is not a retail website and does not sell medicines to the public.

It is an administrative platform designed to support PBS Prescriber Bag ordering. All medicines are supplied by an approved Australian pharmacy in accordance with PBS regulations.

Where do I send the original Prescriber Bag Supply Order Forms?

After your order has been dispensed and received, the original and duplicate copies of the signed Prescriber Bag Supply Order Form must be provided to the supplying pharmacy, in accordance with PBS requirements.

Please post the original and duplicate copies to:

Priceline Pharmacy Sunshine Marketplace Shop MM002, Sunshine Marketplace 80 Harvester Road Sunshine VIC 3020 Australia
Phone: (03) 9364 7133

The triplicate copy of the form should be retained by the prescriber for their own records.

Important note
The signed Prescriber Bag Supply Order Form remains the legal authority for supply. Uploading a copy through the DocPouch platform supports order review and processing but does not replace the requirement to provide original documentation to the supplying pharmacy.

Why is my account marked as “Pending Verification”?

All new accounts are initially marked as Pending Verification to allow the supplying pharmacy to confirm prescriber and clinic details.

Verification typically occurs during business hours. Orders can be prepared and submitted during this time but will not be processed until verification is complete.

How long does verification usually take?

Verification is generally completed within one business day once all required details have been provided correctly.

If additional information is required, you will be notified by email.

What happens if I upload the wrong order form?

If an incorrect or incomplete order form is uploaded, the order will be placed On Hold and you will be notified with instructions on how to upload a corrected version.

Orders are not processed until valid documentation is received.

Can I edit or cancel an order after submission?

Orders can be edited or cancelled only while they are Pending Review.

Once an order moves into Processing, changes may no longer be possible. Please contact the supplying pharmacy as soon as possible if an issue is identified.

I work across multiple clinics. Can I order for more than one location?

Yes. Prescribers who work across multiple clinics may be associated with more than one clinic profile, provided each clinic address can be verified.

Orders must be placed against the correct clinic location to remain PBS compliant.

I am a locum or work from home. Can I still order?

Yes. Locum prescribers and doctors working from home may order PBS Prescriber Bag supplies, provided prescriber details and a valid delivery address can be verified.

A responsible party must be available to receive the delivery.

What if my clinic details or prescriber details change?

If your clinic address, prescriber number, or AHPRA details change, please update your account profile as soon as possible.

Changes may require re-verification before further orders can be processed.

Are orders shipped the same day?

Orders approved and processed during business hours may be eligible for same-day dispatch, subject to verification status, stock availability, and courier cut-off times.

Dispatch timing is confirmed once the supplying pharmacy processes the order.

How is my information stored and protected?

DocPouch uses secure systems to store account information and uploaded documentation.

Access to prescriber data and order forms is restricted to authorised pharmacy and administrative users for the purpose of verification and supply only.

DocPouch does not sell or share prescriber data with third parties.

Does DocPouch store my original order forms?

No. DocPouch stores uploaded copies of order forms for review and audit support only.

Original and duplicate copies must still be provided to the supplying pharmacy in accordance with PBS requirements.

Does DocPouch provide medications outside the PBS Prescriber Bag?

DocPouch is primarily designed to support PBS Prescriber Bag ordering.

Any requests outside the PBS Prescriber Bag arrangements are handled directly by the supplying pharmacy and may be subject to separate terms.

Who do I contact if I need help?

For technical or account-related questions, support details are provided within the DocPouch platform.
