Frequently asked questions

Who can order a PBS Doctor's Bag through DocPouch?

AHPRA-registered Australian prescribers eligible under the PBS Prescriber Bag arrangements: Medical Practitioners (full formulary), authorised Nurse Practitioners (full formulary), and Endorsed Midwives (the subset of items eligible for midwife prescribing, in force since 1 February 2025).

How much does the PBS Doctor's Bag cost?

Nothing. PBS Prescriber Bag supplies are provided at no cost to eligible prescribers under sections 93, 93AA and 93AB of the National Health Act 1953 (Cth) and the National Health (Prescriber Bag Supplies) Determination 2024. DocPouch also provides free Australia-wide delivery.

What is the PB052 form and do I need to upload it?

The PB052 is the official Prescriber Bag Supplies Order Form. It is pre-printed for a specific month and must be signed by the prescriber. Uploading a photo or scan starts the order; the signed original must still reach the pharmacy as the PBS requires.

How quickly will my order arrive?

Orders placed before the daily cut-off and approved by the dispensing pharmacy are typically dispatched the same day. Most metropolitan addresses receive delivery within 1 to 2 business days; regional and remote 2 to 5 business days. Cold-chain items ship in temperature-controlled packaging.

Can a practice manager order on behalf of multiple doctors?

Yes. DocPouch supports multi-prescriber practice accounts. The signed PB052 for each prescriber must accompany each order.

How often can I order under the PBS Prescriber Bag scheme?

Each item is limited to one order per calendar month, up to the maximum quantity in the current PBS Schedule. Once the maximum for any item in a group has been ordered, the maximum for the other items in that group becomes zero for that month, under section 7(3) of the Determination.

Where is my order dispensed and who is responsible for compliance?

All orders are dispensed by Priceline Pharmacy Sunshine Marketplace, a Section 90 PBS-approved supplier under the National Health Act 1953. The dispensing pharmacy is responsible for clinical and regulatory review of each order.

Prescriber Bag Ordering Information

How to order your PBS Prescriber Bag online

  1. Build your order. Take the standard monthly set, or just pick the items you're running low on.
  2. Upload your signed PB052. A phone photo works.
  3. We dispense it at Priceline Pharmacy Sunshine Marketplace and ship it free, anywhere in Australia.

Who can order

DocPouch is for AHPRA-registered prescribers eligible under the scheme: GPs, nurse practitioners, and endorsed midwives. You'll need your prescriber number and a signed PB052 each time you order.

What you can order

Up to the PBS monthly maximum for any item, as long as your current bag stock is below that max. Once a month, that's the rule, and no stockpiling. Full list or partial top-up, either's fine.

What it costs

Nothing. PBS Prescriber Bag supplies are free to eligible prescribers for emergency patient use, and we don't charge for delivery either.

The paperwork, plainly

The signed PB052 is the legal instruction for supply. It's what actually authorises the pharmacy to dispense. It has to be completed in triplicate and signed by you, and the original plus duplicate need to reach us. You upload a copy here to get the order moving, and the original paperwork follows. Each form only covers the month written on it. When the order arrives, you or someone at your practice signs for it.

Important note

Uploading your PB052 here gets your order moving, but the signed original still has to reach the pharmacy as PBS requires. DocPouch handles the ordering; it doesn't replace the paperwork.
